The Fairland Acres subdivision in 20905 Silver Spring, MD is a sought after community off Briggs Chaney Rd and Peach Orchard Dr. The subdivision includes an older section - mostly ramblers and ranchers on generously sized lots and built between the 1950s and 70s - and a newer section with Colonial-style homes built in the early-to-mid 1980s which are part of a HOA (home owner's association).

Hearthstone Village is another quaint Silver Spring, MD community within close proximity to the Metro's Red Line. It's conveniently located to the Wheaton Metro stop.

Hearthstone Village was built in 2002 by Beazer Homes. It sits right off University Blvd - thus, the units on and closest to it have a Wheaton mailing address vs. Silver Spring for the others. The homes have a classic townhouse look but the majority consist of 2 units per building. Lay-outs vary between the 2 and 3 bedroom units.

The new section was built in 2004 - the townhouses are of the 3-levels-up style with no basement but a double-garage and den on the ground floor.

Plyers Mill Estates has a HOA (Homeowners Association) with a monthly fee ranging from $125 to about $150 (as of May 2012) which includes a community pool, common ground maintenance, snow and trash removal.

Brookeville, MD is a quaint little community in the northeastern part of Montgomery County. The town proper is just north of Olney but its boundaries extend to New Hampshire Ave and the Howard County line to the east.

Brookeville, its roots dating back to 1794, is proudly referred to as the "Capital for a Day". President Madison found refuge at the historic Bentley house during the burning of Washington in 1814.

In 1979 Brookeville was added to the National Register of Historic Places and designated a Historic District in 1986. Its historic houses can be admired by going on a walking tour - courtesy of the Town of Brookeville - or by renting the Brookeville Academy.
